Every athlete needs to have a detailed practice plan in order to insure
that he will develop and perform his skills successfully on game day.
Failure to have such a plan will result in a "trial and error"
performance. This prevents an athlete from developing to his maximum potential
and helping the team win.

These in-season practice workout books provide a daily workout for a kicker
or a punter. It begins with the first day of preseason practice and continues
until the final game of the season. Each day has a planned workout for
the kicker or punter. It specifies the number of kicks, distances and
hashes to kick from and the number of kickoffs to do. For the punter,
it specifies the number of punts, type of punt, hang time, coffin corner,
or drive punt to work on for that day.

Each practice has a chart for recording the workout. At the end of a week
is a Weekly Summary Chart of the kicks and punts for that week. This allows
the coach to review the performance of the kicker or punter for that week
and make decisions for game day utilization.
The workout
books practice plan is structured to build toward maximum performance
on game day. Heavy workouts are done on Monday through Wednesday tapering
toward a Friday game day. A separate section details a practice plan for
a Saturday game and a workout week for the playoffs.
